SQL RD and SSIS

Hi All,

Can SQL RD be used to start a SSIS package? If so, can someone point me in the direction of how to get started?

Thanks

    *Hello,

Yes, you can use SQL-RD to execute an SSIS package and here is how to do so:

    On the SQL-RD server:
-Make sure SQL Integration Services 32 bit have been installed so the feature will work properly(Pre-requisite)
-Create an Automation schedule and under the Tasks section go to Database section and select "Execute an SSIS Package"
-Now set the login details and select the SSIS package (and any variables if needed) then click ok to save the task

Note: The task "Execute an SSIS Package" can be found in all schedules types under Custom Tasks (Ex. Automation, Single Schedule, Event-Based)

    Hope this helps,
    Chris

    -Hi Chris,

This really helps. I guess if I'm using a 64 bit machine all I need to do is install SQL Integration Services for 64 bit. Wooo Hooo!

    Thanks!!

*SQL-RD is a 32 bit application so make sure to use 32 bit SQL Integration Services regardless of the server being 32/64 bit.

    Thanks,
    Chris
