Event based subscriptions

I am having a hard time creating an Event based subscription. I want to have an email sent containing an SSRS report output only when there are rows in this view i created. If there are no rows, then i do not want an email sent.

First problem is that when I am in the Conditions tab, the app will not open my view and display the columns in simple mode. When I go into advanced mode to enter the sql query (select * from <tview> where indicator<>0), the query will parse fine and give me the expected results, but then crashes with a stack trace when I click ok:
Error

I am not sure if this makes a difference, but my data is in an Oracle database, and I am using the web page silverlite client.

Please advise a fix for this issue, or if another type of schedule will produce the desired results.
thanks!

Hello, when connecting to Oracle databases please make sure the ODBC System DSN connection is using the Microsoft ODBC for Oracle driver. (Screenshot attached)
