-We've seen this error many times too, surprised no one from SQL RD has responded.

Most likely it's in your Exception Handling tab and it's set to auto-calculate a time out. Bump that up and disable auto-calculate.

*I keep getting this same issue. When I check on these manually I can see they are stuck on the status of "Creating report file..." until it times out.

What I don't understand is why it gets stuck there. I check the output folder and the file is there, it successfully created it. Yet SQL-RD will not progress to the next step which is send an e-mail.

-We are looking into this issue. Please supply us with a bit more information regarding this issue, namely: what type of report are you running, what is the export format, is the query being parsed successfully upon build, and does the query work in SQL?

Please supply us with this, and any other relevant information as we continue to look into the issue.

    Thanks for your patience.

*This is happening with individual report schedules as well as package schedules; doesn't seem to make a difference.

The reports have a few export types; excel and pdf. This happens in both cases.

All of these reports work when looking at them directly from the reporting manager site as well as the SQL-RD preview option.

When these are running they are completing all of the steps up to file creation. The export.debug log shows that the files were successfully written though, and I can confirm that they are by going into the output folder and opening the file. There is data in them and everything.

However, it seems SQL-RD, immediatly after file creation, just freezes at that step and refuses to continue until the job timesout at which point SQL-RD tells me the job failed due to timeout.

Overall, all steps up to Outputting to the necessary destination (e-mail) are being completed. It just freezes at "Creating Report File..." even though the log shows it being successfully created.

I have checked the SMTP configuration and it is fine. I went into the setup options and hit "Test E-mail" and it sent one immediatly. I did receive the e-mail and SQL-RD showed a message of "E-mail successfully sent"
