Data Items

The data items module affords you the capability of setting up a number of data queries, storing them and calling them up for use when required.

Add:  To create a new data item, click "Add".  Enter a name for the new data item, select a DSN, provide any necessary credentials and click Connect.  You will then be presented with the "Get Values from Database" module where you can build a query using the intuitive simple setup wizard, or paste in your own query in the Query field.  For more information on "Get Values From Database", click here.

There are additional options to allow you to specify how SQL-RD should handle the data that is returned.

Edit:  Select a data item and click this button to edit it.  You will be presented with the "Get Values from Database" module where you can modify the query using the intuitive simple setup wizard, or paste in your own query.  For more information on "Get Values From Database", click here.

 

Delete:  Select a data item and click this button to delete it.

 

Using Data Items

 

With the Insert Function, you can insert data items into various fields in SQL-RD.

 You can insert Data Items into email outputs.

Note: These are not dynamic inserts. If you are looking to dynamically populate data, please review Dynamic Schedule Wizard or the Data-Driven Schedule.

 

To use an existing data item, simply select it from the list and click image6.gif .  Click "OK" to insert the selected item into the originating data field.

 

If you have several data items, you can use the search field to quickly locate the data item you need.
